Irplast presented “ENV”, the first S-BOPP film for window envelopes
FROM OCTOBER 5th TO 7th IN MARSEILLES AT 60th FEPE CONGRESS
IRPLAST, A LEADER COMPANY IN PRODUCING BOPP FILM FOR SPECIAL APPLICATIONS, IS NOW SUPPLYING INTERNATIONALLY THE WINDOW ENVELOPES’ MARKET
Thanks to a unique production process, which is not replicable by any other technology worldwide, Irplast has produced a very promising film for the envelope windows: ENV. Thickness reduction, excellent performance on high-speed machines and 100% guaranteed optical readout are the major plusses. It has been certified by Deutsche Post and verified by leading European and US postal authorities.
Irplast has presented ENV, the first window in S-BOPP for letter envelopes, in Marseilles from October 5th to 7th, at the 60th European Federation of Envelope Manufacturers (FEPE) Congress, which the Company recently joined.
This is an absolute novelty, designed to bring a positive evolution to the market: the new ENV film has unique features because it is produced on Irplast Brückner LISIM stretching line, the only large volume BOPP line in the world capable of conferring BOPP film a very high elastic modulus in MD. The consequently low elongation ratio compared to traditional lines allows high quality production at high speed, according to the statistics of the first large users. The new S-BOPP film is thus able to replace, at the same performance, more expensive plastic materials traditionally used for letter envelope windows.
Born from the vast experience of Irplast in the development of special simultaneously bi-oriented polypropylene films, ENV reduces the thickness of the plastic material used for windows, adding to the benefits of the specific weight of BOPP, lower than that of other commonly used materials.
The high level of adhesion to any paper substrate with various kinds of glue has confirmed the excellent processing of the film, as evidenced by the total compatibility of ENV with the adhesives produced by the most important multinationals in the field. The windows give reliable readability on optical readers, with both “glossy” and “matte” look options. In 2016, the film obtained the Deutsche Post certification and was tested positively by other leading European and US Mail providers.
